My glass is empty but, I can taste the wine...
I am going to attempt something I have never done before... write a review on a wine I have never tasted. I have never touched a bottle, never pulled a cork nor ever smelled its enticing aroma. But, I can do this because I know the land from which it comes and the hands that conceived and brought it forth.
It is COEVO.

The Cecchi family of Tuscany produces a wide range of fine Italian wines. They have a history to draw upon and access to quality and modern production. Yet, they are never satisfied with the status quo. The brothers, Andrea and Cesare had a desire to create a special wine that would express the modernity and quality of today’s great wines. And, because I know them well, I know that they took the time and effort to do it right. The blend will change from year to year, yet stay true to its’ Tuscan heritage of Sangiovese. COEVO will evolve and grow in complexity and, at the same time, remain an expression of simplicity... the highest possible quality for every year.

Now, I sit back and warm the empty glass between my hands. I close my eyes and think of Villa Cerna and all it has been to the Cecchi family. I smell the warmth of the soil. I feel the cool of the cellar. I see the blood red ruby rising toward my lips. I take it in, hold it in my mouth and feel the rich passion of its creation. I have tasted COEVO in my mind.
It is all it was designed to be and more. Maybe, one day, you can taste it as well.

Cesare and Andrea Cecchi toast you with a glass of COEVO... I wish I was there.

UPDATE October 4, 2010:
We visited our friends at Casa Vinicola Cecchi, had an excellent lunch with Andrea Cecchi and Giulia Dirindelli during which we tasted the 2006 and just released 2007 COEVO. I must say that it was everything that I had imagined and more... pure silk in the mouth feel with a lingering finish that speaks to its Tuscan heritage.  If you have the opportunity, try a bottle. I predict you will come back for more.
