Slow Food in a Slow City...
There is a wonderful town near Bologna in Emilia Romagna -  Citta Di Castel San Pietro Terme - where the pace is slow and the people friendly.  In fact, it is part of the cittaslow (“Slow City”) movement in Italy.  That means very little stress for its citizens with a good life for all.  We were fortunate to be hosted by the City Assessor, Sauro Dalfiume who introduced us to the Mayor - Vincenzo Zacchiroli and other city officials.  Sauro took Mary and I to the local “Slow Food” restaurant (another Italian movement that features regional cuisine prepared in the traditional method by local volunteers). From tortolloni Bolognese to grilled lamb castrato, every dish was flavorful and filled with love. The restaurant is located in a city park just below the main square in a hugh open air tent.
Mary and I are heading back to Emilia Romagna in September. You can bet we’ll be returning to
Citta Di Castel San Pietro Terme
for “Slow Food in a Slow City.”
